Building a Productive Task Force

One of the key principles that a have learned over time on how to do things quick, effectively and efficiently is using task forces. Here, you delegate responsibilities to other people who will fulfill a certain task. However, starting up one is easy but keeping it running is the real mission. What then must you put into consideration?

Your group must have strong leaders with well understood delegated authority. Good governance structures should also be in place to specify on various issues. Never allow the leaders that you have put in place to intimidate those working under them. Ensure also that the subordinates give their leader an easy time. Have written down rules to prevent cases where some concerns are disregarded.

The group must also know what is expected of them. Therefore begin by clearly putting down their duties and responsibilities. This calls for a strategic plan that will keep the force going.

Members must be social and ready to work together as a team. They should be made to understand that the failure of one of them also means failure to the whole group. Communication among all members must therefore be encouraged. This is a key as it makes everyone feel part of the whole team.

Have an ability to accept setbacks whenever they occur and learn from them and be able to celebrate achievements. Enhance you team by engaging them in continuous updates and learning to help them grow. If one of the members feels that the team is not progressing in the right direction, allow him/her to make his/her contributions but also should also make a decision to stay or leave the team.
